The Olive

I guard the elementary peace power of the earth. I transform the light of the earth and give it back to the sun. I watch over the power of resilience. My fruit has a strong healing power. Many Bedouin and nomads discovered my healing properties. Over the centuries I became a cultural symbol. I have survived many generations. I have seen many cultures come and go. Still today there are fights between peoples over me. Many have demolished me out of anger at my strength. But I cannot be destroyed. I rise up over and over again. In my shade, at the place called the Mount of Olives, Jesus Christ spoke many prayers. The Mount of Olives was named after my power. People’s feet were anointed with my oil in order to bestow on them my quality of resilience. I witnessed the murder of Christ. But the true message of Christ, the one that lies beyond all religions – the message of surrender and unconditional love – survives. I pass it on to all those who become quite enough to experience the healing power of my being. I transform the light that comes from the darkness of the earth and give it back to heaven. I connect every living being to its own inner light as soon it opens to my vitality. Blessed be the cultures who take care of my power.
