Diary entry from September 2nd, 2024

Grounding was the theme of the past week.
For me, it’s not just about feeling that we are anchored in the center of the earth, but also about realizing that the earth itself is changing and that we are called to listen deeply to how we can best support it in its process.

Our vigil at the Holocaust Museum has taken place. It was a first action in support of the peace project WOMEN IN WHITE and took place on August 28th in Berlin.
In order to be able to lead such a vigil, which touches on many traumatic places, a firm grounding is needed.
The “Women in White” peace project serves a global vision of peace and was initiated by Aida Al-Shibli together with Miki Kashtan.
It was a wonderful success. 60 people, mainly women, gathered for two afternoons. It culminated in a silent march, a meditation and a prayer dedicated to ending genocide on this earth, especially in Gaza. The motto NEVER AGAIN was our leitmotif for this meditation, as this site preserves the memory of millions of Jews who were killed, while at the time many people claimed out of fear that they did not know about it all.
What do we need to wake up and end the war? This requires a deep inner work of consciousness to realize how deeply we are involved in the war matrix. I led the silent march at the Holocaust memorial. I had invited a group of women, participants from the “Wut der Frau” seminar, to take part in the vigil. Some of us wrote a statement to break the German silence. There we write: “This vigil serves a great vision of the ‘women in white’ – who are working for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and on earth in general. (…) We belong to no party and no fixed group. We stand for an immediate ceasefire and, beyond that, for the unconditional search for non-violent solutions: End war – live peace.
(…) We are sitting here at the Holocaust memorial in silent meditation to remember the German past
where a fascist government and its supporters carried out horrific massacres against the
Jewish population and where the majority of the population remained silent out of fear.
out of fear. We are determined not to stand idly by when we see injustice and inhumanity.
injustice and inhumanity. We cannot tolerate the massacre currently taking place in Gaza.
This act creates untold suffering for both sides and does not protect against anti-Semitism,
but actually promotes it.
